Members - News - Fall Member's Letter

October 21, 2005

Dear Members,

It is with eager anticipation of the 2006 golf season that we introduce ourselves to you.

As you have been notified by Bert and Hope Whitten, Searsport Pines Golf Course will be under new ownership in November, 2005.

Mike and I would like to get to know as many of you as we can over the next few months before the start of the next golf season. What we would like to do is plan some open house afternoons at the farmhouse in the off-season. Hopefully, you will drop by for some friendly conversations, refreshments and give us your input. We would be most interested to learn what you like or don't like and are open to any suggestions you may have to improve your playing experience at Searsport Pines.

Part of the plan is to build a couple of new tees on certain holes and improve on existing tees. There will be other improvements to the golf course. Plans for the future also include the construction of a clubhouse for all to enjoy; not only during golf season but throughout the entire year (a place to watch the Patriots win another title!) There are several other fun ideas that can be implemented next season; i.e., monthly drawings for dinner certificates at local restaurants; member tournaments, etc.

2006 Fee Schedules are enclosed. (Note: Members will not have to pay additional green fees to play in tournaments; that's already included with your membership). There is a minimal increase in most fees. The Whitten's have recommended that this is necessary due to the continuing increases in operating costs to run the golf course (fuel, etc.). The goal will be to maintain superior conditions on the course to make playing golf at Searsport Pines a pleasurable experience for everyone.

We look forward to meeting you as well as hearing your ideas and suggestions!

Sincerely,

Susan & Mike Prisco
